Locate Finger Lakes, an economic development initiative to promote positive business development in the Finger Lakes region, recently made a presentation to members of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council (FLREDC).

Former State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio and Jack Bisgrove, founder of Locate Finger Lakes, outlined the tremendous opportunities to promote the region’s assets as the Finger Lakes brand is receiving a growing national and international reputation.

Locate Finger Lakes is focused on promoting our region as an ideal place to do business, with world-class research and innovation, abundant resources, and a quality of life that is second to none,” said Nozzolio. “Our efforts complement those of so many others, like the FLREDC, who are working to support economic growth and job creation in the region.”

The FLREDC is responsible for setting a strategic plan for the region’s economic growth under Governor Cuomo’s Upstate Revitalization Initiative. Its successful efforts have resulted in a commitment of $500 million from the state to support hundreds of critical projects throughout Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes.

These projects span the areas of food research and technology, higher education, health care, infrastructure, agri-business, arts and culture, and workforce training.

“I thank the Regional Council members who have given so much of their time and energy to setting a strategic course for the region’s economy,” added Nozzolio. “And I was pleased to present to them at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua – one of the region’s great assets for education and workforce development.”

Locate Finger Lakes is an important partner in our collective efforts to support the growth, advancement and prosperity of our region,” said Nozzolio. “We’re all working to keep the Finger Lakes moving forward.”
