WATERLOO, NY – The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) today announced that the organization will hold two public meetings in November as part of the IDA’s economic development strategic planning process. The IDA recently commenced a planning process in an effort to develop a formal strategic plan for Seneca County. The strategy is intended to define a comprehensive approach to encouraging private-sector economic growth for the County in the years ahead.

The first public meeting will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Seneca County Office for the Aging, 2465 Bonadent Drive, in Waterloo. The second will take place the following week, from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at South Central High School, 7263 Main St., in Ovid. The public is encouraged to attend both meetings.

The upcoming meetings will give the public an opportunity to provide their input in the beginning stages of the process, Seneca County IDA Executive Director Bob Aronson said. As a result, the IDA and its partners will be better able to develop and implement an effective strategic plan to boost the economic prospects for the County.

“If Seneca County is going to thrive and prosper in the future, we need to work hand-in-hand with our leading industries, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions to ensure that the County’s economy can continue to progress and that our residents, particularly our young people, know what our local economy has to offer them.”

The meetings will provide an overview of the planning process, provide a summary analysis of the data gathered from prior public meetings, and invite participants’ thoughts about the priorities for building a stronger County economy.

For more information, contact the IDA at 315-539-1725 or r.aronson@senecacountyida.org or visit seneca-economy.com, where the public is invited to submit comments in advance.
